Yacht Club Transportation: Walking, Bus, Friendship Boat Times
Transportation from Yacht Club
Top-tier EPCOT access. Yacht Club is one of five Disney resorts within walking distance of a theme park, and the walk to EPCOT's International Gateway (7-10 min along Crescent Lake) is shorter than waiting for any other mode of transit. Hollywood Studios is also walkable (18-22 min) or reachable by the Friendship boat in 15-25 min including wait. The tradeoff: no bus to either park — Disney doesn't run buses to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios from any EPCOT-area resort, so walking and the boat are the options.
| Park | Best option | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| EPCOT | Walk to International Gateway | 7-10 min |
| Hollywood Studios | Walk or Friendship boat | 18-22 min (walk), 15-25 min (boat) |
| Magic Kingdom | Direct bus | 23-50 min |
| Animal Kingdom | Direct bus | 23-45 min |
| Disney Springs | Direct bus | 23-40 min |
Along with its connected sister resort Beach Club — they share the boat dock, bus stop, and walking paths — Yacht Club is the closest deluxe combination to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. For the direction-by-direction breakdown of the Hollywood Studios commute, see Yacht Club to Hollywood Studios.
Your Transportation Options
Yacht Club has three main transportation modes:
| Mode | Destinations | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Walking | EPCOT, Hollywood Studios | 7-22 min depending on park |
| Boat (Friendship) | EPCOT, Hollywood Studios | Scenic, ~15-25 min with wait |
| Bus | Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs | No bus to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios |
No Skyliner or monorail access.
The Walking Advantage
Yacht Club is one of the closest resorts to EPCOT — only Beach Club (its connected sister property) is closer.
To EPCOT
Walk time: 7-10 minutes
The path goes along Crescent Lake and through International Gateway (EPCOT's back entrance, between France and the UK).
Why walk:
- Almost always the fastest option
- No waiting for anything
- Beautiful waterfront path
- You're there before a bus would even arrive
For EPCOT access, Yacht Club is hard to beat.
Note: You enter at International Gateway, not the main entrance. Great for World Showcase, Remy's, Frozen. For Guardians or Test Track, you'll walk through the park or take the bus to the main entrance.
To Hollywood Studios
Walk time: 18-22 minutes
The path follows Crescent Lake past BoardWalk to Hollywood Studios.
When to walk:
- Pleasant weather
- You have energy
- You'd rather move than wait
When to consider alternatives:
- Midday heat (take the boat — there's no bus on this route)
- End of a long day
- A boat is at the dock ready to board

Getting to Each Park
To EPCOT
Best option: Walk (almost always)
| Option | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Walk | 7-10 min | Fastest, lands at International Gateway |
| Boat | 15-20 min | Scenic but slower, lands at International Gateway |
| Bus | Not available | Disney does not run buses to EPCOT from EPCOT-area resorts |
Walk unless:
- Weather is bad and you'd rather take the boat
- You're heading specifically to Guardians or Test Track — both walk-in options land you at International Gateway, so you'll cross World Showcase to reach them. If that matters, Lyft or the Minnie Van service drops at the main entrance.
To Hollywood Studios
Best option: Walk or boat
| Option | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Walk | 18-22 min | Reliable, longer walk |
| Boat | 15-25 min | Friendship boat, one stop at Swan/Dolphin |
| Bus | Not available | Disney does not run buses to HS from EPCOT-area resorts |
Walking and the boat are roughly equivalent. If a boat is there, take it. If not, walk. For a full breakdown, see Yacht Club to Hollywood Studios.
To Magic Kingdom
Option: Bus only
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Walk to bus stop | 3-5 min |
| Wait for bus | 5-20 min |
| Ride to Magic Kingdom | 15-25 min |
| Total | 23-50 min |
No walking or boat connection. Direct bus service.
To Animal Kingdom
Option: Bus only
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Walk to bus stop | 3-5 min |
| Wait for bus | 5-20 min |
| Ride to Animal Kingdom | 15-20 min |
| Total | 23-45 min |
Direct bus.
To Disney Springs
Option: Bus only
Total time: 23-40 min
Yacht Club vs. Beach Club
Yacht Club and Beach Club are connected sister resorts. They share:
- Stormalong Bay pool
- Beach Club Marketplace
- Boat dock
- Walking paths to parks
Transportation difference: Minimal. Beach Club is slightly closer to EPCOT (by 1-2 minutes). Yacht Club is slightly closer to Hollywood Studios direction. Both are excellent.
The real difference is theming and room style, not transportation.
For Beach Club details, see Beach Club Transportation.
Rope Drop Strategies
For EPCOT
Leave time: 30-40 minutes before park opening
Walk. You're 7-10 minutes away — one of the easiest rope drops at Disney.
For Guardians: Take the bus to the main entrance, or walk in through International Gateway and hustle to the front.
For Hollywood Studios
Leave time: 50-65 minutes before park opening
Walk or catch the first boat. The walk is about 18-22 minutes.
For Magic Kingdom
Leave time: 60-75 minutes before park opening
Direct bus to Magic Kingdom.
For Animal Kingdom
Leave time: 60-75 minutes before park opening
Bus only.
Park Close Strategies
From EPCOT
Walk. Out International Gateway, along the water, home in 7-10 minutes. No lines, no waiting.
This is the reward for staying at Yacht Club. Everyone else fights for buses; you stroll home.
From Hollywood Studios
Walk or boat. If the boat dock is crowded, walk — you'll get home first.
From Magic Kingdom
Direct bus back to Yacht Club. Bus lines can be long after fireworks — leave early or stay late. See Transportation at Park Close.
From Animal Kingdom
Stay 15-20 minutes after the nighttime show to avoid peak bus lines.

Tips for Yacht Club Guests
Use the Walk
You're paying deluxe prices partly for this location. There's no bus to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios anyway — walking and the Friendship boat are the options, and walking is usually fastest.
International Gateway Entrance
Know that walking brings you to the back of EPCOT. World Showcase first, then Future World. Plan accordingly.
Share with Beach Club
You can use Beach Club amenities (and vice versa). The bus stop, boat dock, and walking paths serve both resorts.
Evening Return
The walk back from EPCOT at night, along the illuminated BoardWalk, is one of Disney's best experiences. Enjoy it.
